Hi guys!
Since last weekend in Yyteri was so great, I decided that I just have to join your forum!
My car is a 2006 Renault Clio Sport 197. I bought it completely stock about a year ago. It has a 2.0 16V 145kw engine which moves it quite nicely.
To start with, here are a few pictures of it stock:
I drove it like this through the winter and in spring the fun started. First came the wheels:
2-piece Carline CM8 / Dynatech Arven, 18x8 et45 in the front and 18x8.5 et39 in the rear. I was actually really really happy when I found these in Estonia, because the PCD for the Clio is 5x108 and it was a pain in the ass to find wheels that would fit. Also, you can't actually find many of these wheels around. Why didn't I just get some other wheels and use adapters? It's because of the original offset. Original 17x7.5 wheels have offset 68. Now, current front wheel has offset 45 and 8mm spacers (so et37) and I have about 1,5-2cm of poke. In the rear the offset is 39 and no spacers. So if I wanted to run adapters, the offset for the new wheel should be something like et60 or so and it's not too easy to find a good looking wheel with such a high offset. Since wheels weren't in very good condition, I refurbished them myself.
Next came the coilovers:
My weapon of choice was Spax RSX coilovers. There aren't many different sets of coilovers available for Clio Sport and ones from the regular Clio won't fit, but I'm really happy with mine. One of the reasons why I picked these over KW V1s, was that the stiffness can be adjusted and these go about 2cm lower than the KW ones. At the moment, I could go like 2cm lower in the front, but rears are maxed out and actually I even removed the adjustment parts (don't know how you say this in english) to get it lower.
I realised that I hadn't taken any proper photos of my ride in current setup, so during the Big Meet I went took some quick ones. This is how it looks like now:
So what's coming in the future? There's actually loads to do. I'm probably going to get the whole car painted since there are so many scratches. If I get current ones sold over the winter, I'm probably going to have new wheels next season. The front of the car needs to look lower, so a new front splitter is coming. The interior is wrapped in 3M carbon at the moment, but I'm probably going for something more interesting soon. And so on...
I also wanted to add that Big Thanks for having us at the Big Meet. It surely was the best event of my summer!

See you next time!
