Hello.
I have built many cars in the past and doing 85% of the works myself in our garage. I thought that i present one for you guys also. I thought that maybe some builds from abroad will be nice to see. I speak very good finnish, but i hope you dont mind, that i write in english, as technically is easier in many cases.
This particular car was originally 3.0 tdi (176kw) 6k tiptronic Audi A5. I bought it, becase car bodylines are good, it has won many design awards and it was really attractive in his OEM shape.
Car itself has came from Germany and there it was some stripclub owners ride. I have found many hints during car disassembly, which approved my thoughts. Tecnically car was in very good shape and also many adds, so it was good platform to start from.
Like always... i didnt want do anything with that car, just for daily. Well right... I have to admit that before car got to todays point, it had many bumpersets, many diferent exhaust sets, wheels and other things which i wanted to try. I will talk about things which stayed on, because other details are past and mostly sold now, so they dont play any roll in here anymore.
Engine: Like i said, originally it was 176kw 3.0tdi engine. At the moment it runs with 243kw and 750nm. I know it is not maximum, but its enough, as i havent done turbo. Big intercooler ofc and more minor modifications there.
Gearbox: Gearbox is regular 6k with slight modifications.
Exhaust: Car has custom selfmade exhaust. Im using 3`` downpipe without cats + OEM Rs5 backboxes, which have custom made pipingwork inside. Great sound and OEM look + possible to make car very loud or more quiet. Video about sound:
Here is another video also, but bodylook is abit old. Back these days it looked like S5 for a while.
Now about brakes which are also important, if you increase power.
Front brakes: Audi RS4. 8-piston calibers with regular paint and logo. 365mm discs and pads. I dont like so much red, yellow. so i made them gray.
Rear brakes: Audi RS6 c6 V10 rear main brakecaliper frames and piston+ A5 electrical handbrake motor + brakepads. Porche cayanne Turbo S 955 facelift 4-sport brembo brake calipers + brakepads. Audi RS6 c6 V10 brakedisc 356x28mm Selfmade brakecaliper carriers. Extremly hard to fabricate, as no space back there.
Brakehoses are all from HEL.
Suspension: As im not fan of coilovers and somehow dont want to buy airride (wife tells me to buy...), im still oldscool springs man. Front axel runs on H&R OE and real axel runs on H&R OE sport springs. Those diferent sets have given me ideal look + i really appriciate goodlooking cars which are looking fast, but they are also good to drive without rub. For somebody, there is not enough stance, but its fine with me. Looks technically right:)
15mm spacers front, 19mm custommade spacers on the rear axel.
Exterior: Like i said, car has lived many lives in my garage. It has been A looking model, it has been S looking model. Not its looks like this. Rims are 20x10`` Et 35 with 265/30 R20
I have tried to get very very clean look in here without any useless details. Rs front bumper with oem style silver lip + oem grill , Rs sideskirts, Rs rear bumper with oem silver valance + chrome tips. Everything in here has meant to be like OEM++.
There Is OEM retractable spoiler with selfmade custom made control module, trims, plasticbumpers, oem springs.
Taillights are facelifted, also licence plate lights. Chrome mirror were more attractive than OEM aluminium ones. Also chrome matches with windowtrim.
Maybe about seats and inside stuff? As is said, it was well equipt from factory already. Fully electrical seats, rear parkingcamera, front and rear parkingsensor, seldimming mirrors, full B&O system, cruise, MMi, navi,..But like always, its still not enough.

I think thats all for now. Project will be improved and maybe i visit some events in Finland also. I have got many invites, so who knows.

Tidy car. The one downside are the wheels which i would change to something a bit more "high end". The package just looks a bit cheap with those vertinis.

Hi. Havent update thread in here for a while. Well im not myself so much wheel guy. For me its important that car looks good overally. No matter how high or low end they are. As this car is more or less daily, its even better when wheels are not so expensive. I would say that any 1500 eur rotiform or similar set is not better. Nevertheless im planning to update rims next year, if ill keep the car. Ill start to look something similar. Plan is ROHANA or Ferrada and same diamensions like at the moment - 20x10 et35. I cant put wider rims or with smaller ET, as custom brakes took 10mm away from front and 20mm from rear ET. So if any of you guys have any suggestions, feel free to share Some pictures also from this fall.

One nice feature, what i managed to complete.
Facelift climate panel is not exactly 1:1 and there might be alternative fot that. Most of guys will try to swap panel with fl panel because of knobs, but mostly because of white number on black background. It matches great with cluster. Pre facelift panel has 10years old red look.
I wasnt intrested of buttons, but i wanted white numbers.
Panel to table.
Covers removed and display unclipped.
Old led off and new ones on. Those were soso small things to work with. Newones have to be with same parameters like oldones had.
Red diffuser off, and new white diffuser on.
Back together and ready.
Look really good and quality is also top.

I managed to get used B9 RS5 engine cover. Its non carbon version, but i guess still quite rare. Oil gap pipe is new and custom now. Enginecover connections are selfmade and relocated. It was not easy fit, but worth of new look. Also enginebay cleaned and intake polished, RS letters removed.
Fall in all its glory.

Lots of nice upgrades that you've done so far. You've also nicely captured all of them to make it interesting to look at. No complains about the car except the wheels that where also mentioned earlier. Some high brand wheels are also like an investment and keep their prices better than these normal brands.
Anyway it was interesting to take a look to your A5. Laters.

Decided this time to do it right. Classical, but goodlooking OEM close style this year. New tyres, new rims, new tyre valves, new bolt covers. Repainted calipers. Rims 20x10,5 et 42 all around. Tyres 265/30 Continental sportcontact 3. Because of brakesetup, this was maximum et i can do with 10,5 wide rims. Convace is visually better than with previuos 10x20 et 35 setup. Could do even lower with suspension, but i cant get to my garage then anymore and i would like to do trips in europe without having too many low car issues.

Small trunk update. I really like it and with open lid, its nice touch. Audi 4131 sunset red/crimson red alcantara. Planned to do whole trunk, but it would be too much and not practical too.

Usage of this car is quite small last years. More like building all the time and trying something new. Driving is not primary for me.
Planned to do nose facelift, but came up with something better. Perhaps facelift during winter then. I have considered to sell this car, but its somehow still intresting to me. As its ``ready`` also, its quite fun to drive it sundays.
Suspension will have mayor update during next 4 weeks.

Everything is planned to fit under trunk plate, to spare tyre location. Airtank will be covered wit same alcantara, like trunklid. Touchpad will be placed next to sigarette lighter, under slidepanel above shifter. Everything should be hidden, except airtank. There wont be usual airride Tuck look. Im not fan of it. Im looking maximum very close touch with rim/tyre(lowest level maybe 2-3mm higher from rims/tyre). Car have to look always sporty, but with good clearance and fitment. I can lift it then for driving or for other reasons, where higher level is needed.
